The Appalacian Rapids team is a member of the American Basketball Association (ABA).  The team will be a sanctioned 'traveling team' for the 2009-2010 season.   The Rapids will play teams in the Northern and Southern Divisions of the ABA.

The Rapids are a sister team to the West Virginia Blazers.  Players on the Rapids compete for open spots on the WV Blazers rosters.  Playing with the Rapids keeps young men active and involved in professional basketball.  The Rapids look to play approximately 10 games in the 2009-2010 ABA season.

The Rapids are located in the heart of the Appalachian Mountains and work with the WV Blazers to promote positive life choices for youth in West Virginia and neighboring Virginia.

The Roster for the Rapids will change based on those selected to fill the Blazers roster.  The Rapids are always 'ready to go' and play in the ABA league against other ABA teams.  You may see the Rapids playing the Blazers on occasion for exhibition games or if sheculed opponents are unable to make a game scheduled with the Blazers. 

ABA games, regardless of opponents, are always fun, affordable family entertainment.  For those of you who love to watch basketball, you will not be disappointed if you watch the Rapids or the Blazers play fast-paced, exciting basketball!
